By Car

Five Acre Barn is located in the village of Aldringham – about two hours from London. Whether approaching from the north or the south you will approach from the A12. We suggest that you take the A1094 for Aldeburgh. After about three miles take a left turn towards Knodishall on the B1069. Go through Knodishall, past the Butcher’s Arms on the left and take a right turn at the end of the village to Aldringham. After a minute or so you will arrive at Aldringham. Continue through the village until you reach a T junction with the Parrot and Punchbowl pub on your right. Turn right towards Aldeburgh on the B1122. Continue for a minute, passing a large care home on the right and we are on the left.

If you are coming from Aldeburgh at the roundabout south of the town’s church, take the second turning for Leiston. After two miles you will reach Aldringham. As you enter the village we are on the right –just past the 40 mph sign.

In either direction there are signs – albeit slightly set back from the road.  These are on the left (from Leiston) and on the right (from Aldeburgh).  On entering the drive you will see another Five Acre Barn sign – please go past this and either continue to the parking spaces at the end of the drive or park by the Barn for unloading or easier access.

By Train

It’s a lovely – if rather slow – train ride to our nearest station, Saxmundum – about 1 ½ hours from London Liverpool Street. From Samxmundham you can then either catch the bus (by Waitrose) to virtually outside the house or catch a taxi.  If you decide on the taxi option then you should book this before your arrival – this is not Uber country.  We recommend either Hendersons (01728 830101) or Boomerang (01728 833331).
